A Tale of Two

‘A Tale of Two’ is a delightful children’s picture book written by Jodie Sherwood- Austin.  It is an enchanting story about friendship, individuality and acceptance, which every child will be able to relate to and enjoy reading.

The story revolves around two characters called Doug and Bunny.  Apart from the obvious similarity of both being dogs, these two seem to have very little else in common.  Is this a problem?  Well, we soon find out as the story unfolds and we discover how such differences can impact upon their friendship, as well as the additional influence that peer pressure can impose.

Children and adults alike will love the story and the uniqueness of both Doug and Bunny as we are taken along their friendship journey.

The tale is, of course, accompanied and brought to life by the simply beautiful illustrations, painted by renowned Book Illustrator Natalie Kilany. With a magical twist in the middle of the book, Natalie’s drawings bring a greater depth to the story and really help to share the message that, ‘everyone is special just the way they are.’

This story is an essential read for all young children.  Not only can it be enjoyed when read alone or as a bedtime story, but it is also an excellent learning tool which can be used to teach children a wealth of life skills and morals that should be discussed throughout.

This is Jodie’s debut book which will be followed soon by ‘A Tale of Three’. In this exciting sequel, we get to see the impact of a new dog entering Doug and Bunny’s household and the series of issues that they will have to face and overcome together.
